She was predeceased by: her husband H. H. Prophater; her parents, H. E. Garner and Bea Garner; and her siblings, Loyce Arlen, Neal Garner (Louise) and Edna Mae Scarbrough (Charles).

She is survived by: her children, Gene Prophater (Betty), David Prophater (Renee) and Mary Edna East (David); and her brother Jimmy Garner (Johnnye).
