He was predeceased by: his parents, Linus Burnett and Nadine Burnett; and his son Edward Burnett, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Diane Burnett; his children, Dina, Lisa, Chad, Gene and Terry; and his siblings, Carol, Grace, Steve and Larry. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
