It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Thomas Merritt of Eagleville, Tennessee, born in Smyrna, Tennessee, who passed away on September 1, 2020, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joshua Thomas and Polly Dell Lannom Merritt; and his siblings, Dudley of Jeff, F. B., James, Charles Merritt, Florence Goodfred, Allie Mae Fann, Vera Vaughn and Azille Dewey.
He is survived by: his wife Nina Fowler Merritt of Eagleville, TN; his son Timothy Merritt (Joyce) of Rockvale, TN; his grandchildren, Jonathan Merritt of Franklin, TN, Joshua Merritt of Rockvale, TN, James Merritt of Murfreesboro, TN, Jacob Merritt of Rockvale, TN and Kimberly Leeper (James) of Rockvale, TN; and his great grandchild Olivia Leeper. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
