He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Sewell and Elizabeth Pewitt Sewell; and his brother Roger Sewell. He is survived by: his wife Rita Holt Sewell; his son Charles Clay Sewell, Jr.; and his siblings, Riley Sewell (Nora), Paul Sewell and Paulette Bradley (Jack). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pete Sewell Memorial Fund.
