It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Scott Thomas Ward of Dyersburg, Tennessee, born in Painesville, Ohio, who passed away on January 21, 2023, at the age of 56, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Samuel Orson; his mother-in-law Joy McDearmon; and his brothers-in-law, Steve McDearmon and Jerry Seat. He is survived by: his mother Sue Carol Colley Ward of Auburn, Indiana; his spouse Greg McDearmon of Dyersburg, Tennessee; his siblings, Samuel Orson, Jr. (Joseph Waggener) of Memphis, Tennessee, Sharon Martin (Dale) of Garrett and Susan Voirol of Auburn, Indiana; his father-in-law William McDearmon of Dyersburg, Tennessee; and his sisters-in-law, Kathy Morgan (Randy) of Dyersburg, Susan Seat of Newbern and Ellen Akin (Tim) of Newbern. He is also survived by nineteen nieces and nineteen nephews.

The family ask that memorial contributions be directed to the Dyer County Humane Society, P. O. Box # 223, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024.

“Greg, Cousin Carol just told me that she had heard from her neighbor yesterday that Scott had passed away. I’m so sorry to hear this news. I have been so sad about this all day. He was such a great person. I just know you have been devastated to say the least. I’m in SW Florida, between Naples and Fort Myers. I bought a new Townhouse after my mom passed. I was in Fort Lauderdale for 9 years. Brad is there with his family in Dyersburg. Get my #from Carol and call if you want! Bud Perkins”
