He was predeceased by: his father James Morris Sawyer; his wife Deborah "Joan" Sawyer; and his siblings, Olan Ray Sawyer, David Sawyer, Catherine Mashburn, Sue Fair and Etta Boswell.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Sawyer of Dyersburg, Brian Sawyer of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Jenny Wales (Derek) of Finley, Tennessee; his sisters, Katie Garrett (Dan) of Dyersburg, Margaret Willis (Gene) of Newbern and Peggy Ann Dilback of Indiana; and his grandchildren, Brooke Evelyn Sawyer, Christopher Garrett Sawyer, Marlee Grace Wales and Miller Everett Wales.
A graveside service was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
