It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gladys Jean Overton Townson of Dyersburg, Tennessee, who passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Overton and Jewell Wilson Overton; her husband Thomas "Tommy" Townson; and her daughter Terry Lynn Chandler. She is survived by: her children, Tammy Boyd (Julius) of Jackson and Kenny Townson (Mary) of Dyersburg; her sister Gerene Fowler of Dyersburg; her grandchildren, J. T. Chandler, Gillis Chandler (Shelby), Michelle Baker and Jordan Boyd; and her great grandchildren, Emma Chandler, Atticus Baker, Delilah Baker, Henry Chandler and Boots.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 12:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Curry Funeral Home (1984 St John Ave, Dyersburg, TN 38024). A burial was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at the Fairview Cemetery (910 Shelby Dr, Dyersburg, TN 38024).
