She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Couch and Minnie Robinson Couch; her husband Glynn Gates; and her siblings, Dorothy Taylor, Imogene Newmon, Billy Couch and Everett Couch.

She is survived by: her sons, Robert Gates and Jerry Gates; her grandchildren, Teresa Lock and Cody Carlton; and her great grandchildren, Autumn Lock, Caden Carlton and Olivia Carlton.
