He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lee and Laura Ann Williams McCarver; his wife Mary Meeks McCarver; his sons, Mark and Luke McCarver; and his brothers, Eldon, Claude, Jessie Lee and George Melvin McCarver.

He is survived by: his daughter Sandra Tate (Daniel); his siblings, Clayton McCarver (Mary) and Vernell Clift; his grandchildren, Jeremy Tate (Rachel) and Kim Nunley (Bruce); and his great grandchildren, Faith Meeks (Tanner) and Hope Nunley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
