She was predeceased by: her parents, Hobert Moffitt and Elizabeth Bonner Moffitt (Lizzie); her son Gaberial Dexter Burgess; and her brothers, Bobby Moffitt, Clifton Moffitt (Tip) and James Moffitt.

She is survived by: her husband Robert "Dexter" Burgess; and her children, Beth Garcia (Chris) of Mize, MS, Matt Burgess (Missy) of Dunlap and Jonathan McGovern of Dunlap. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
