He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Levan and Gladys Lucille Lockhart Hobbs; his siblings, Norman "Sonny" Hobbs, Glennis Kay Johnson, Avonelle Stewart and Anna Faye Harmon; his great grandchild Lillian Faith Johnston; his nieces and nephews, Diane McCarver, Norma Smith, Josh Farley and Timmy Hendon; and his father-in-law Guy Allen Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Smith Hobbs; his children, Audrey Cagle (Matt), Andrea Skyles and Jared Hobbs (Kaylee); his grandchildren, Miranda Baker, Taylor Johnston (Dakota), Allena Hobbs, Emma Cagle, Alex Kilgore and Emaree Hobbs; his great grandchildren, Travis Smartt, Abigail Massengale Maverick Baker, Tyson Johnston, Cameron Johnston, Jasper Johnston, Skyler Johnston, Memphis Hobbs, Copelynn Pickett and Tobias Ruehling; his siblings, Alma Ruth Johnson, Connie Krider (Mike), Tina Newman (Jimmy) and Johnny Hobbs (Ann); and his close friends, Lebron Kilgore, Lonnie, Lora Johnson, Mark, Lisa Prior, Michael and Gary Hamby.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ewton Funeral Home & Cremation Center (6936 TN-28, Dunlap, TN 37327). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
