He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy K. Smith and Venia Boston Smith; his son Chad Rayburn Smith; and his siblings, Clara Johnson, Cecil and Lennis Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Tina Ewton Smith; his children, Matthew Smith (Kirstie) of Dunlap, Heather Keaton (Rick) of New York, Brent and Raven Hopkins of Gulf Shores, AL; his siblings, Clayton, Janie Johnson, Evelyn Westmoreland, James Lewis Smith, Billy Smith (Cheryl), Barry Smith (Jan), Beverly Barker (Benny) and Deanna Johnson; his grandchildren, Derricks Smith, Chad Smith and Lukka Aaron Keaton; and his close friend Derricks Shane Hogan "Biggin". He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
