He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Bill and Lois Polly Herron Layne; and his daughter Amy Lee Layne. He is survived by: his children, Tammy Kehn (Chris) and Gerald Layne (Amy); his stepchildren, Alesha McDonough (Brandon) and Bryan "Bubba" Layne; his brother Calvin Layne (Sandy); and his grandchildren, Shea Lewis (Collin), Trey Johnson, Jacob Johnson and Mason Layne.
