It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Benjamin Lewis Hartman Jr. (Dunlap, Tennessee), who passed away on January 23, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his former wife Dureta Griffith Hartman; his parents, Lewis Hartman and Josephine Hartman; his sister Sudie Hartman Culpepper; and his daughter-in-law Amanda Layne Hartman.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Layne Hartman of Dunlap; his sons, Clay (Brooke) of Knoxville and Dan (Elisabeth) of Huntsville; his stepdaughter Wendy Cermeno (Franco) of Chattanooga; and his grandchildren, Delaney, Jacob, Adam Hartman, Micah, Ezekiel, Elisha, Joeli Dietz, Natasha Walker, Kita Moore, Brandon Herd and Tyler Roberts. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Ewton Funeral Home & Cremation Center (6936 TN-28, Dunlap, TN 37327). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his name to the Chapel Hill Methodist Church Building Fund, 5606 East Valley Road, Dunlap, Tennessee 37327.
