He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Sanders and Vera Cribbs Sanders; his daughter Gloria Pilgrim; and his siblings, Leo, Waymon, David, Paul, Wilene, Raymond Sanders, Sally Atterton and LelaMae Seals.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Joyce Higgenbottom Sanders; his children, Laura Layman (Rocky), Victoria Garrett and Kenneth Sanders; and his sisters, Rachel Russell and Vinnie McDaniel. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
