He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Walden Hatmaker; his mothers, Pearl Lee and Pearlie Mae Esteridge Hatmaker; his children, Jessie Lynn Hatmaker and Julie Powers; his siblings, Kenneth Hatmaker, Jerry Hatmaker and Bernice Shoupes; and his granddaughters, Felicia Hatmaker and Jennifer LeMarr.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Hatmaker (Peggy) of Eagan, Timothy Hatmaker (Samantha) of Duff, Gregory Hatmaker (Beronica) of Duff, Sandra Powers (David) of Duff, Betty Ledford (Danny) of Duff, Rhonda LeMarr (William) of Duff, Brenda Hatmaker of Duff, Evelyn Hinkle (Jerry) of Duff and Mary Lambdin (Daniel) of Duff; and his sisters, Mary Boshears and Janice Wilson. He is also survived by 52 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
