She was predeceased by: her parents, Earnest Henson and Ada Watts Henson; her husband James Arlice Smith; and her children, Sonya Watson and Bryan Keith Smith.
She is survived by: her son James Arlice Smith Jr.; her granddaughter Valerie Noella Krycia; her niece Joyce Melvin (John); and her friend David Dishman.
