He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Sidney and Susie Wren Simmons; his siblings, Luther William Simmons, Jerry Leroy Simmons and Wilma Simmons Floyd; and his daughters, Missy Simmons Yarbro, Amy Ruth Simmons and Angela Diane Simmons.
He is survived by: his wife Cindy Rose Simmons; his children, Rhonda Simmons Reid (Lance) of Dickson, TN and Robert "Bobby" Simmons (Lisa) of Covington; and his sister Brenda Simmons Pittman (Johnny) of Drummonds. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren.
