We are sad to announce that on November 9, 2024, at the age of 84, Lavonia Hope Stephens of Dresden, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Lavonia Hope farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Lavonia Hope is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Carl Mansfield and Irene Thedford Mansfield; her husband Don Stephens; and her brother James Mansfield. She is survived by: her children, Kerry Stephens (Christy Blassingame), Kelly Stephens, Mark Stephens (Joy), Rene Hansen (Rick) and Michelle Brown (George); and her sister Kara Lofton (Kenneth). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Matheny Grove Primitive Baptist Church (4470 Boydsville Rd, Dresden, TN 38225). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at the Matheny Grove Cemetery (4470 Boydsville Rd, Dresden, TN 38225).
