It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Cowan Throckmorton Jr. of Doyle, Tennessee, born in Montclair, New Jersey, who passed away on August 14, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Cowan and Mary Gray Throckmorton; his children, Charlotte Matheney and James Throckmorton; his stepdaughter Marcia Usrey; and his half-brother Phill Throckmorton.
He is survived by: his wife Olive "Betty" Throckmorton of Doyle; his children, Sandy Mosely (Paul) of Fairfield Glade, Ricky Throckmorton (late Judy) of Smithville, Robert (Beth) of Michigan, Norma of Sparta, Pat Seibers (Wayne) of Sparta, Eddie Garrett of Sparta, Betty "Lori" Usrey (Sam) of Sparta, Crystal Black (Sean) of Sparta and Mary Beth Rogers of Spencer; his stepchildren, Jimmie Hopkins of Sparta, Connie Prater (Rick) of Sparta and Gayle Parrish (Gus) of Sparta; his brother Davd Throckmorton of Weeki Wachee, FL; and his half-sister Carol Hauser of Lynchburg. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren 55 great-grandchildren 2 great-great grandchildren.
