He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Owens and Retha Sharp Owens; and his siblings, Kelly Owens, Elbert Owens, Lizzie Owens and Johnny Owens.

He is survived by: his wife Jean Owens of Dowelltown; his children, Michelle Curtis of Dowelltown, Patrick Conners of Smithville, Michael Conners of Smithville and Teresa Owens of Kentucky; his grandchildren, Crystal Bogard (James), Cody Curtis, Colton Curtis, Destiny Conners, Mikey Conners and Ashley; his great grandchildren, Hannah Bogard, Brooklyn Barnes, Carissa, Brennon and Rachel; his siblings, Henry Owens (Gail) of Kentucky and Letha Price (Glen) of Indiana; and his close friends, Doug and April Barnes.
