He was predeceased by: his sister Jeanette Priest; and his parents, Sterling Smothers and Mary Brock Smothers. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Smothers of Dover, TN; his children, Sherry Proctor (Neil), Diane Lessis (Sofiene) of Dunnellon, FL and Justin Smothers (Jamie) of Dover, TN; and his brother Don Smothers (Lee) of Burna, KY.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
