He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Seay Bruton and Mildred Phillips Bruton. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hicks Bruton; his children, Galen Bruton and Brandy Balthrop (Sammy) of Clarksville, TN; his grandchildren, Jacquelin Bruton, Charlie Balthrop and Ellie Balthrop; and his siblings, John Thomas Burton (Jeane) of Victor, MT and Sondra Cherry (Billy Clay) of Dover, TN..

In lieu of memorials, donations may be made to Ft. Donelson United Methodist Church.
