He was predeceased by: his parents, John Slater and Wilma Kage Slater of Franklin, TN; and his grandparents, Joshua and Beatrice Slater of Lansing, Michigan.. He is survived by: his close friend Margie Shelby; his brothers, Thomas Slater (Susan) of Bellevue, TN and James Slater (Carole) of Thompson's Station; his nephews, Porter and Finnegan Walsh; and also Sarah Walsh (John).
