He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Sorensen and Verna Kidd Sorensen; his son-in-law Joe Carroll; and also Joan. He is survived by: his wife Joan; his children, Susan Carroll (Tony Luciano) of Clifton Springs, Robert Sorensen Jr. (Leslie Berry) of MacDougall, NY and Chris Sorensen (Laura) of Dickson, TN; his granddaughter Emily Grace Sorensen; and his brother Phil Sorensen (Claudia) of Washington State. He is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
