He was predeceased by: his parents, King Charles Matthews and Eileen Peebles Matthews; his brother King Charles Matthews Jr.; and his parents-in-law, Frank H. Carter, Sr. and Dolly Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Carter Matthews; his daughters, Leanne Galloway (Hunter) and Laura Conklin (Alex); and his grandchildren, Reese, Reagan, Kenzlee and Emmitt. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home (9090 TN-100, Nashville, TN 37221). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (7931 McCrory Ln, Nashville, TN 37221).
