He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Kimbro and Roberta Kimbro (Luther); his wife Shirley Kimbro; his sons, Dennis Kimbro and Steven Kimbro; and his sisters, Lona Mai "Tootsie" Cathey and Irene Garton.

He is survived by: his children, David Kimbro (Pam), Keith Kimbro (Mary), Bryan Kimbro (Lisa) and Beth Savely (Kendall); his brother Johnny Kimbro (Alice); his grandmother Maggie Garzoni (Jim); and his significant other Shirley Ilene Bray. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
