He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Blake and Hallie Vetter Stewart; his wife Lucille Dunn Stewart; his daughter Martha; his son-in-law Donnie Flatt; his grandchildren, Barry, Todd Pruett and Amy Shelton; his great grandchild Elizabeth Aldridge; and his siblings, J. B. Stewart Jr., Mai Eades, Dimple Faulkner, Bertie Pruitt, Marie Presley and Christine Edwards.
He is survived by: his children, Sonny Stewart, Jr., Sue Edmisson (Doug) and Kay Franklin (Randy); his sister Betty Kinnie; and his grandchildren, Libby Shoemak, Laura Byers, Meagan Aldridge, Corrie Stewart, Josh Stewart, Scott Franklin, Matt Franklin and Justin Franklin. He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
