He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Owens and Doye Owens (Myatt); his sons, James Carlton Jr. and Warren Paul Owens; his brother Paul Allen; his son-in-law John Talley; and his sister-in-law Sara Owens.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Owens (Johnson) of Dickson, TN; his children, Daryl Owens (Tabitha Owens) of Dickson, TN, Debra Ann Gibson of Dickson and Lisa Talley of Dickson, TN; his stepdaughter Aleashia Allen; and his siblings, Joe Ray Owens of Dickson, TN and Janet Kay Johnson (Kenny) of Dickson, TN. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
