He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra James Layton and Bessie Fern Layton (Hyde); his wife Dorothy Layton; his grandson George Bailey; and his stepson Tony Lee.
He is survived by: his children, Glenda Hasley (Terry) and Vance Layton (Clarissa); his stepchildren, Michelle Locklear (David), Mike Lee (Tammy) and Philip Lee (Angela); and his grandchildren, Jason Galbreath (Barbie), Glenn Bailey, Patrick Layton, Jeremy Layton (Crystal) and Vanessa Bartrum (James). He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Taylor Funeral Home (214 N Main St, Dickson, TN 37055). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
