He was predeceased by: his wife Rosie Irene McCord; his granddaughter Crystal Jensen Kemper; his stepgreat-grandson Joseph Waddell; and his parents, Joe Hardy McCord and Ethel Sharp McCord.
He is survived by: his children, Melvin McCord (Kelly), Joanna McCord Tewalt and Juanita Jensen Jolly (Steve); his close friend Nell Jones; and his grandchildren, Todd Jensen (Kerraina), Daniel McCord, Carl Tewalt, Lee Tewalt (Taylor), Valance Tewalt (Candace), Michelle Beckham (Josh) and Emily McCord. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Cremation Center (9090 TN-100, Nashville, TN 37221). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
