She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Spann and Pauline Spann; and her sister-in-law Rita Kimbro Miller. She is survived by: her husband Rex; her daughter Vickie Kimbro Pritchett; her grandchildren, Jenna Pritchett and Tanner Pritchett (Tori); her brother Donnie Spann (Carolyn); her nieces, Keri Howell (Joel) and Carla Spann; and her brother-in-law Vollie Miller (late Rita).

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in Elaine's memory to the Kimbro Cemetery Fund c/o Sue Buckner, or Common Voices, an advocates' coalition determined to create a Fire Safe America.
