He was predeceased by: his parents, George Byrum and Mary Capps; his wife Doris Ann Byrum; his son Anthony Byrum; and his brothers, Paul Byrum and Lloyd Byrum.

He is survived by: his daughter Stephanie Burch (Kevin) of Dickson, TN; and his grandchildren, Derrick Byrum, Justin Byrum, Cody Burch (Kendyll) and Emily Holland (Dalton). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
