It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Max Leroy Phillips of Del Rio, Tennessee, who passed away on December 6, 2020, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mitchell Phillips and Helen Phillips; his parents-in-law, Joe and Gladys Turner; and his siblings-in-law, Roger Turner, June Turner and Mona Schaffner.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Phillips of Del Rio; his children, Barry Phillips of Newport, Craig Phillips (Emily) of Knoxville and Rachel Callison (Wesley) of Morristown; his grandchildren, Hunter Phillips, Conner Callison, Elaine Phillips, Jacob Phillips and Nate Phillips; his siblings, Mitchell "Butch" Phillips (Drucilla) of Newport and Carolyn Wiley (Buff) of Steinhatchee; his nieces and nephews, Mylee Messer, Makenzie Messer, Branson Messer and Maverick Warren; his sister Rita; and his brothers-in-law, John Self and Buck Schaffner. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
