He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell McMahan and Zelma McMahan; his siblings, Pauline Tolley, Bashie McMahan, Jack Mathis and Sam; and his sister-in-law Martha McMahan.
He is survived by: his wife Emma Sue McMahan of Del Rio; his children, Dwayne McMahan of Athens, TN and Pamela "Pam" Ellison of Weaverville, NC; his siblings, Graydon Mathis (Sarah), Lester McMahan (Geraldine), Roy McMahan, Creed McMahan (Glenda), Lessie Winter (Billy) and Geneva Strom; his sister-in-law Nell Mathis; and his grandchildren, Heather Rose (Joe), Lindsay McMahan, Evan McMahan (Mimi) and Joseph McMahan.
