He was loved and cherished by many people including: his brother Glenn Melton Shanklin; his father Charles Melton; his stepfather George "Buddy" Shanklin; his grandparents, Loy, Ruby Tompkins, Ray and Treva Melton; his sons, Todd (Hope Melton) and Chad Melton; his grandsons, Hunter Jasinski, Bryce Jasinski Melton, Drake Melton and Taitum Melton; his mother Susie Tompkins Shanklin; his sister-in-law Sandi Shanklin; and his niece Savannah Shanklin.
