It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nina Mae Champion Payne (Decherd, Tennessee), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on April 1, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Russell and Argie Maude Champion (Fears); her husband James E. Payne; her siblings, Howard Champion, Parker Champion, Rudy Champion and Geneva Gipson; and her grandson James W. Curtis.

She is survived by: her children, Reba Denton of Winchester, Linda Hall (Thomas) of Winchester, James Ray Payne (Patsy) of Decherd, Charley Payne (Gaye) of Winchester and Robbie Payne (Kim) of Decherd; her grandchildren, Tommy Curtis, Renee Bates, Angie Sowers, Lee Hall, Johnny Payne, Jason Payne, Nathan Payne, Julie Scott, Levi Payne and Josh Payne; and her siblings, Johnny Champion (Elsie) of Tullahoma and Mary Garland of Winchester. She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
