He was predeceased by: his wives, Martha Ingram Highfill and Jane McPeak Highfill; his son Joseph H. Highfill, Jr.; and his parents, Herbert Holmes Highfill and Mary Bernadette Jones Highfill.
He is survived by: his daughter Patti Fisher (Bob) of Scotts Hill; his granddaughter Audra Marie Fisher (Chance Taylor) of Adamsville; his great grandchildren, Zane, Knox and Quinn Taylor; and his stepsons, Danny Yearwood (Adair) of Jacksonville, FL and Jon Yearwood of Decaturville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to support the local animal shelter or humane society.
