He was predeceased by: his parents, J. L. Lankford and Katie Berry Lankford; his brothers, Clyde Lee Lankford, Ivan Lankford, Ralph Lankford and Clarence Lankford; his brothers-in-law, Cliff Dockery and Chuck Robinson; his father-in-law William N. Burris; and his former wife Elizabeth Ann Lankford.
He is survived by: his wife Nina Burris Lankford; his children, Angelia Lankford (Angie), Mary Ann Frye and David Benton (Angela); his siblings, Ernie Lankford (Debbie), Freddie Lankford, Clara Mae Robinson and Lousie Dockery; his grandchildren, Haley Rutledge, Tyler Rutledge, Shyanne Rutledge, Jonathan Benton and Beth Benton; and his great grandchildren, Adrian Coleman, Avianna Coleman, Devonte Jr. Coleman, Skylar Taylor, Sapphire Rose Wickham and Serenity Rain Benton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Freedom Baptist Church for mission work.
