He was predeceased by: his parents, Lankford Monroe, and Cindy Monroe, Sr.; and his brother Jim Monroe. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Monroe of Decatur; his children, Kevin Monroe of Decatur, Brenda Scheider (Steve) of Dallas, GA and Kent Monroe (Myra) of Athens, TN; his grandchild Anndrea Melton (Daniel) of Douglasville, GA; his caregiver Donna Ray (Rodney); his close friends, Bo Henry and John Henry; and his sister-in-law Wanda Monroe. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
