She was predeceased by: her parents, A. E. Carter and Dorothy Dennis Carter; and her siblings, David Carter, Jim Carter, Faye Carter Farmer and Gail Carter.
She is survived by: her husband Lowell Vaughn of Decatur; her children, Tammy Phillips (Mac) of Chattanooga, Dewayne Vaughn (Meleah) of Dothan, AL and Jeff Vaughn of Cleveland; her sister Debbie Carter Smith (Dan) of Decatur; and her siblings-in-law, Frances Carter, Faye Carter, Leuty Vaughn (Pearline), Jimmy Vaughn (Marilyn) and Curtis Vaughn (Norma). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
