It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Mattox of Decatur, Tennessee, born in Rossville, Georgia, who passed away on September 30, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Kenneth Morton and Lillie Morton; her children, Michele Burt (Darrell) of Hixson and Duke Mattox (Kim) of Ooltewah; her siblings, Patsy Prescott of Flintstone, Richard Morton (Nancy) of Ringgold and Lewis Morton (Biddy) of Flintstone; her grandchildren, Marcie Burt, Tori Mattox, Nicholas Mattox (Tiffany), Jared Burt (Whitney), Amanda Tucker (Eric) and Kendra Campbell (Sean); and her great grandchildren, Alaxander Mattox, Ezekiel Campbell, Micheal Burtt, Scout Burt, Ashlyn Tucker, Gunner Troy, Rielynn Troy and Adalynn Troy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory (3239 Battlefield Pkwy, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel - Ft. Oglethorpe Heritage Funeral Homes Fort Oglethorpe (3239 Battlefield Pkwy, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742).
