He was predeceased by: his daughter Mary Ellen Ferrie; his parents, Andrew Tallent and Martha Tallent; his siblings, Bob Tallent, Ralph Tallent, Ray Helton (Charles), Alma Graves, Oscar Tallent, Ralph "Whitey" Tallent, Girdie Tallent and Beecher Tallent; and his cousin Jimmy Ray Williams.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Lou Tallent; his children, B. J. Tallent (Shell), Andy Tallent, Julie Tallent, Debbie Garner (Ronnie), Jackie Lynn Wicker (Phil) and Martha Atkins; his grandchildren, Holly Farck, Alexis Nicole Tallent, Kaitlyn Renee Capooth, Madison Paige Synoground, Kelcey Taylor Synoground, Timothy Austin McCarty, Savannah Tatum Keene, Ashlyn Rayne Tallent and Josh Floyd; and his great grandchildren, Silas, Cade, Martin, Tyler, Timmy, Tanner, Brody, Brantley, Henry and Stella.
