He was predeceased by: his parents, Andy Phillips and Mattie Phillips (Leffew); his wife Mary Marie Phillips (Brown); his son David Phillips; and his siblings, Richard Phillips, Sr., Johnny Phillips, Florence Cheeks, Margaret Phillips and Bessie Mae Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Dale Phillips (Terri) of Dayton, Sherry Presley (late Ricky) of Hixson, Brenda Gale Cronan of Dayton and Amie Redden of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
