He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Scroggins and Lizzie Marie Phipps Scroggins; his sons, Tommy Dewayne and Robert J. W. Scroggins; and his siblings, Robert Ewell Scroggins, Brenda Evitt, Barbara Roddy, Joy Lou Garren, Rhonda Faye Dawson and Patty Keltch.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Scroggins; his children, Jerry Joseph Scroggins, Skyler Jay Scroggins, Tyler Ray Scroggins, Lizzie LaCole Scroggins and Rebecca Jane Scroggins; and his sister Mattie Diane Johnson (Bobby). He is also survived by two grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
