He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted William Byrd and Emma Byrd (McFalls); and his siblings, Harold Byrd, Edward "Doc" Byrd and Wanda Reynolds.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnna Byrd (Perkinson) of Dayton; his daughter Dewanna K. Laning; his grandchildren, Seth William Laning of York, PA, Emma Kay Laning of York, PA and Luke Robert Laning of York, PA; and his brother-in-law J. L. Perkinson of Chattanooga. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
