She was predeceased by: her parents, James Purser Hixson and Allie Hixson (Hixson); her husband Roger O. Bowman, Sr.; her children, John Hethcoat, Dale Hethcoat and Alice Gibson; and her siblings, Virginia Heard, Janelle Hixson, Jasper E. G. Hixson and Ralph Claude Hixson.
She is survived by: her daughter Linda Hanks (Roy) of Dayton; and her sister Ruby Roy of Chattanooga. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
