With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Loretta Edge Muecke of Dayton, Tennessee, who passed away on December 24, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Loretta Edge leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, H. B. Savage and Clifford Savage (Smallwood); and her former husband Willy T. Edge. She is survived by: her husband James Muecke of Dayton; her daughter JoAnn Shirley of Acworth, Georgia; and her stepchildren, Elizabeth Hamilton of Chattanooga and David Muecke (Liz) of Sierra Vista, Arizona. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Vanderwall Funeral Home (164 Maple St, Dayton, TN 37321). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery (1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404).
