He was predeceased by: his son Jamison Ryan Phillips; his parents, Lawrence Phillips and Reba Phillips; and his sisters, Wilma Jean Iles, Sheila Ripper, Dianna Hughes and Sharon Kay Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine S. Phillips of Dayton, TN; his sons, Lawrence "Chip" Carl Phillips III (Tara) of Chattanooga, TN and Michael Phillips (Vy) of Pasadena, CA; his sisters, Carol Hughes (Clarence) of Dayton, TN, Linda Goins (Malcolm) of Dayton, TN and Phyllis Trantham (Jimmy) of Dayton, TN; and his grandchildren, Claudia Jane and Lawrence "Quade" Carl Phillips IV. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
