She was predeceased by: her parents, Veta Newby and Lige Newby; her husband Robert Carroll Thomas, Sr.; her son Robert "Bobby" Thomas, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Amie Laymon and Andrew Thomas.
She is survived by: her daughters, Karon Watts (Randall) of Dayton, Janice Parks of Lenoir City and Phyllis Shelton (Ralph) of Erin. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
